KRISTEN PATRICKSON

LCPC

My name is Kristen Patrickson, and I am a licensed clinical practicing counselor in NV (LCPC). I have worked in the recovery industry for the majority of my professional career. I attended the University of Pittsburgh where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. After finishing my first degree I went on to pursue graduate school at George Fox University located in Portland, OR where I studied Clinical Mental Health and received of Master of Arts. While in my graduate program I worked in the LGBTQ community at a facility known as Trans Active that provides mental health services and advocacy to transgender youth and adolescents. I then relocated to the Central Coast of CA and began working in the addiction field through Ken Starr Wellness Group. While I was working there I was also completing my second master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology, which has greatly expanded my knowledge of connection in the healing process of illness and disease of any kind. I worked with The Haven at Pismo, a residential drug and alcohol treatment center, for a year and a half and then relocated to NV where I have been the last two years. I also worked briefly for Hope for the Sierra, eating disorder treatment center in Reno, just before they closed in 2019. Currently I am pursuing a certification in meditation teaching through Sounds True with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I am very passionate about the power that mindfulness can offer my clients in their healing work and am excited to bring that skill set into my sessions.
