AMANDA HURLEY

CPC

Amanda is a Clinical Professional Counselor with a bachelor of science in Environmental Biology from Ursinus College and a master of art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University. Before becoming a therapist, she was a civilian contractor for the Nevada Army National Guard, supporting service members and their families through the Resilience, Risk Reduction, Suicide Prevention, and Substance Abuse Prevention programs.

Amanda is experienced in treating trauma in kids, adults, families, and couples. She uses a variety of techniques to heal unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns resulting from past trauma. Amanda supports an integrative approach to therapy using mindfulness techniques and attachment and encourages mindful movement as part of healing.  While Amanda focuses on trauma and EMDR treatment, she also enjoys working with nontraditional couples and families. She is a firm believer in the human capacity to heal.

Amanda moved to Reno from Philadelphia to get closer to the mountains and the outdoors. Depending on the season, you can find her out paddle boarding, hiking, camping, or skiing.
