JAN BUDETTI

LCSW

Jan Budetti is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been practicing for twenty-five years. She provides individual, couple, and family counseling. A native of Connecticut, Jan graduated from Columbia University, New York and fulfilled her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. She received her MS in social work, her ACSW in 1990 and her LCSW in 1993.

From 1999 to 2016 Jan worked at the Washoe County Jail setting up and then running the facility’s first co-ed mental health unit. She recently retired from the jail to open her private practice with Healing Minds. Jan loves the grounding of the majestic Sierra mountains and enjoys the surrounding rural area — there’s so much open space and freedom to roam!

Jan began her career working with single, pregnant drug addicted adolescents and woman. Over the last few years Jan works with adults and geriatric populations who struggle with Depression, grief and trauma, anxiety and stress management. Her experience and deep interest in Logotherapy and cognitive behavioral work has led to more focused work with people struggling with finding meaning and purpose in life and/or trauma. Jan is devoted to accepting each client where she is and fully respects personal beliefs. She finds having a sense of humor is wildly powerful in the healing process.
