Luis Garcia Hernandez works with individuals (of all ages), families, and couples on a variety of presenting concerns, with the ability to provide bilingual services in Spanish.

Luis attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he pursued a variety of interests that led to receiving a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish, an M.A. in Philosophy and, more recently, an M.A. in Counseling. His professional experience has taken him to different areas of the community. Luis has spent lots of time with adolescents and loves the dynamic family component to that population. He enjoys his work and feels called to the profession overall.

Luis has a passion for working with people on matters related to sexual health, which is why he is currently working on the sex therapy certification track with the Sexual Health Alliance (SHA), an organization dedicated to providing training and education related to sexual health. Luis is working on the certification process to becoming a certified sex therapist with the governing body, AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists).

Sex therapy is a specialty within mental health that allows those trained in mental health and sex therapy to work with individuals on different aspects related to sexual health. Luis has worked with heterosexual and LGBTQIA individuals to address a variety of concerns related to sexual health: desire discrepancy, values differences, sexual dysfunction, among other concerns. Luis has also worked with individuals who are part of communities that practice kink and BDSM, and consensual nonmonogamy.
