Liza is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Clinical Social Work Intern who earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno. Deeply invested in her community, Liza has spent the past 14 years passionately supporting her fellow Northern Nevadans across a variety of social service roles.
Liza brings a wealth of experience across both inpatient and outpatient settings, working with a diverse range of individuals. Her clinical background also includes supporting adolescents in inpatient treatment, seniors, and individuals and families navigating family court and court-ordered treatment programs. In recent years, her practice has focused on a “Housing First” initiative, where she has helped homeless Veterans overcome complex challenges through crisis interventions, goal-setting and encouraging effective interpersonal communication.
Liza utilizes a person-centered framework, blending evidence-based practices to meet the unique needs of each individual. Her therapeutic toolset incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to guide clients through behavioral change and create meaningful growth. Liza has also just recently begun expanding her DBT skillset by training with Healing Minds. She views therapy as a collaborative partnership, acting as a co-pilot on each client’s unique journey toward healing.
Liza is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where clients can build resilience, affirm their strengths, and ultimately achieve their best selves. She strives to create a partnership built on trust and mutual commitment.
When she is not with clients, Liza can be found reading, sewing, camping or exploring the outdoors with her family.
