Dawn Cheeseman is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has lived in Northern Nevada for over 30 years and proudly considers herself Battle Born. Dawn enjoys working with adults, teens, and families and brings several years of experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, mental health challenges, and complex life circumstances. Her work has strengthened her ability to build strong, trusting relationships and remain grounded in difficult moments. Her approach is warm, direct, and nonjudgmental. Dawn believes in meeting people where they are and creating a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves while working toward meaningful change. She values connection, honesty, and helping clients develop insight, confidence, and practical skills they can carry into their daily lives. Her perspective is also shaped by her own lived experiences, which have deepened her empathy, resilience, and ability to connect with others in a meaningful and authentic way. Dawn draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches and is committed to continuing to learn and expand her clinical skills. She has a strong interest in evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and EMDR.
