RAVEN TIPTON-CLAYSON

MFTI

Raven Tipton-Clayson was born and raised in Michigan, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a double minor in Youth Studies and American Sign Language from Central Michigan University (CMU). During her time at CMU she was part of various student organizations that focused on mental health. She would incorporate children’s mental health into the conversations she had with her peers. During her studies she became an advocate for

children’s mental health.

Shortly after graduating from CMU, Raven moved to Nevada to obtain her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). During her counseling internship at UNR, she led groups focusing on life with chronic illnesses, and teen process groups centered around being a first-generation student. She also worked with children, young adults, and families.

Raven is currently a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and is actively working towards her licensure. She is also working on becoming certified in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). She has done trainings in play therapy and suicide prevention. Raven specializes in working with clients of multigenerational trauma, anxiety, grief, and depression. She also has experience working with individuals, children, and families.

Raven believes that everyone is as a flower. We all grow and we all have stagnation in our growing process. As long as we recognize that we’re still growing through that stagnation, true personal growth can occur.
