Mashara was born and raised in Reno, NV. She graduated in 2014 with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Nevada, Reno. During her undergraduate studies, she realized the importance of taking a holistic, systemic approach to mental health and chose to continue her education at University of Nevada – Las Vegas, where she completed a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016. During her Master’s program she had the opportunity to participate in the AAMFT Minority Youth Fellowship program, where she received specialized training in working with at-risk and marginalized youth populations. After graduation, Mashara worked in community mental health providing services to children and families involved with family services and the court system. She was in private practice for 3 years before joining the team here at Healing Minds.
Mashara works with individuals (of all ages), couples, and families. In her clinical work, she strives to provide a safe, inviting, and nonjudgmental space for clients to be their most authentic selves. She is also a trans-affirmative, LGBQIA-affirmative, and neurodiversity-affirmative therapist with specialized training in working with trauma, ADHD, and the autism spectrum. Her approach is strengths-based and client-centered.
In her free time, Mashara enjoys spending time with her partner, her dogs, and her kiddos. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors, cooking, reading, and adding to her ever-expanding repertoire of half-finished craft projects.
