Krystal first moved to Reno about 4 years ago from the Bay Area. Krystal’s professional journey began with pursuing a BA in Psychology at San Francisco State University. She then completed her Masters of Social Work degree at the University of Nevada, Reno and was licensed by the State of Nevada Board of Social Workers. Krystal is currently a Clinical Social Work Intern at Healing Minds.
Krystal has an intense desire to assist in the betterment of people’s lives. She believes that mental health is about the whole person. Her ability to suspend judgment and meet clients where they are creates a safe space for healing. Krystal enjoys working with individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents.
Her experience includes extensive work in suicide prevention through hotlines and mobile crisis units. She has worked in a variety of settings including adolescent and adult inpatient, outpatient, and residential facilities for mental health and substance use. Krystal has also worked in a teaching capacity with preschool-age children and a housing-first program to aid homeless veterans.
When not working, Krystal enjoys crafts, reading, and spending time with her husband and children.
