Sha-Vonn is a licensed Clinical Social Work Intern and is excited to be able to complete her clinical hours at Healing Minds. Sha-Vonn grew up in rural Nevada, spending the majority of her life in Elko. She says that she is a small-town girl at heart, but enjoys living in the Reno area. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the area and hiking with her dog. She graduated from Great Basin College in Elko with a Bachelors’s in Integrative Studies with an emphasis in Social Sciences. She then moved to Salt Lake City Utah and graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters in Social Work and a Certificate in Substance Abuse.

Sha-Vonn has experience in both inpatient hospital settings and outpatient clinics. Her experience includes working with autistic children as an applied behavior tutor, evaluating and treating adults with mental illness, substance abuse disorders, and varying ages in acute care settings. She worked in a clinic in Utah that specialized in treatment-resistant mood disorder and gained experience in electro-convulsion therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimuli (TMS) treatments. Sha-Vonn takes interest in and applies principles of several evidence-based therapies to fit the individualized needs of her clients. Sha-Vonn strives to create a safe, comfortable, and judgement-free space for her clients.
