Raquel Ramirez, MSW, CSWI
Born in the Los Angeles area, Raquel moved to Reno, NV at a young age where she grew up enjoying the outdoor activities around the city and the lake. Raquel attended The University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in psychology in 2017. She then pursued her Master’s degree in Social Work and was one of four students graduating with distinction in a class of 60 plus students. Raquel has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy. She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families to assist them in finding healthy perceptions of themselves in all aspects of their lives.
Raquel’s experience includes working as an advocate with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a women’s shelter, the Reno Police Department and other non-profit agencies. Raquel has been to the Nevada Legislature for the last two sessions to advocate for various bills that could and have significantly helped individuals in our community. Raquel’s clinical background includes working in an acute hospital setting where she has provided crisis interventions with patients and their families through the use of mindfulness and acceptance.
